PRIVACY POLICY

This section is provided to inform you of why its necessary that your personal data (verbal, written, electronic form or by use of the website) is collected and what I do with it. The data is held and processed to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation act (GDPR) 1998 for several main reasons in line with the GDPR requirements, please see below.

Stored data and the reasons for it.

1. It is my duty to obtain a patients personal information regarding their health to provide them with the best possible treatment that I can. The initial request for treatment and our mutual agreement to establish that care appoints an unwritten contract.

2. The data is obtained precisely for the benefit of the progression of the treatment and also in the interest of my self in order for me to make an accurate diagnosis so I can practice my treatments effectively and safely.

3. Contact details are stored primarily for treatment purposes in order to either confirm an appointment, or to update the patient on matters related to their medical care.

4.Provided I have the patient's consent (verbal), from time to time I may send useful information out via email suited to their case which we discuss through treatments. The patient may withdraw from this at any stage though.

Shared data

No data is ever shared about you with organisations or people, except in the following situations:

I may share info with healthcare professionals or anyone that you have given me consent to liaise with over health concerns for example.

How long I store your data for -

It is by legal obligation that your records are stored for up to 8 years following your most recent treatment, but if you are aged 25 and above you can request for them to be erased if you prefer. Otherwise, your records will be retained for this length of time incase you were to return to treatment in that time frame.

How the data is stored:

Paper records are stored in a locked filing cabinet at the clinic.

My phone and laptop are the only devices I have, which has access to emails and bookings, and patient files, this is all password protected.
